David Heath, Minister of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs visits McDonald’s stand at NBA Beef Expo and is given an overview of the McDonald’s Sustainable Beef Club and E-CO2 ‘What If?’ Tool

E-CO2 attended the NBA Beef Expo at the invitation McDonald’s to represent the McDonald’s & E-CO2 greenhouse gas reduction project and promote the Beef ‘What If?’ Tool.

The event provided a good opportunity to meet farmers participating in the Sustainable Beef Club, which E-CO2 run on behalf of McDonald’s, and many other farmers and processers who were interested to know about the carbon footprint of British and Irish agriculture.

David Heath, Minister of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs visited the stand and was given an overview of the Sustainable Beef Club and the ‘What If?’ Tool. The MP for Somerset and Frome also took part in a question time event which attracted a large audience and discussed matters such as the eradication of TB and CAP reform.

E-CO2 were represented by Andrew Wynne who along with the McDonald’s agriculture team and Sustainable Beef Club farmer member Stephen Hobbs demonstrated the ‘What If?’ Tool to a number of people who were interested to learn more about on-farm carbon footprinting. Stephen was able to provide farmers with first-hand knowledge about the Sustainable Beef Club consultancy visits and group meetings.
